Matsu Mari
Matsu Mari was a bushi of the Lion Clan.
War of Dark Fire[]
During the War of Dark Fire, Mari was assigned to accompany Shinjo Dun as part of his honor guard. She aided Dun in succesfully defending Shiro Shinjo and repelling the Yobanjin invaders in the Battle of Shiro Shinjo. [1]
Destroyer War[]
During the Destroyer War Mari joined a group of veteran Hiruma Scouts and Lion warriors, crossed the Destroyers' lines and journeyed to the Hiruma Castle, bolstering the defenders. Hiruma Etsuro and Mari reached the coast to board a Mantis ship captained by Yoritomo Iwata to return to the Empire. [2]
Chasing bandits[]
In 1171 Mari, along with a dozen Ikoma guardsmen, killed two dozen bandits who attempted to raid a storehouse. She discovered that a much larger force was preparing for a raid into the Crab villages near the front line. Mari took a force to intercept them near the Shinomen Forest, but discovered the entire force of bandits slaughtered to a man. The bandit lord had a Spider Clan war banner driven through his chest. Mari swore her patrol to silence upon pain of death. [3]
