Isawa Riake was a shugenja of the Phoenix Clan, and Master of Water.
Becoming Master[]
Riake was made Master of Water in 1158. [2]
Relationship with Hociou[]
Riake loved Isawa Hochiu in secret, [2] and it was not until the moment of her death that Hochiu realized he loved her.[3]
Yobanjin refugees[]
Riake was to journey to the northern borders of Phoenix lands and assisted Isawa Taeruko in the expulsion of Yobanjin refugees. [2]
Dark Oracle of Fire Awakened[]
Tamori Shaitung duelled the Elemental Masters, defeating them in an all-or-nothing attack. The six shugenja were swallowed up by the earth where they encountered Shaitung's father, Tamori, the Dark Oracle of Fire. [4]
Death[]
When Tamori unleashed a wave of lava to crush the Masters, Riake made a protective ice shield that saved Shiba Ningen, Isawa Taeruko and Isawa Hochiu, but she was unable to save herself. She died only six months after having become Master of Water, in the Month of the Hare. [2]
