Hiruma Usigo was a Emerald Magistrate of the Crab Clan.

In 1121 Usigo accepted a last invitation to the Asako winter court at Shiro Gisu, the lands were he spent thirty years as magistrate. In the following spring he would retire to a monastery. [1] His eyes were shadowing, and he was a bit blind. [2]
Asako winter court[]
Usigo was a judge for an improptu poetry constest held during Asako winter court at Shiro Gisu. The contenders were seeking the favor of Otomo Yoroshiku, Hantei XXXVIII's niece. The contest went wrong when Shiba Himitsu accused Yoroshiku was not of the imperial line. [3] This night Himitsu was found murdered and Usigo aided the Lord's castle, Asako Kagetsu, to discover the guilty. [4]

Usigo was poisoned during the investigation and died. [5]
