Tochiko, the Jagged Tusk of Death, was a samurai-ko [1] remmant of the defunct Boar Clan who lived in the last years of the 12th century. [2] Tochiko despised the late Heichi Chokei, who had proclaimed himself the last true Boar, denying her true heritage. [3] She eventually became the new Daimyo of the restored Boar Clan.
Proud of her Ancestry[]
Tochiko was more than rude to those who asked about her ancestry. Despite this she favored the Mai Chong, the typical weapon of the Boar, and had a tattoo on her neck of the Boar mon. She was a favored vassal of those who led the Alliance of Minor Clans, serving as an ambassador [1] to the Mantis Clan. Eventually Tochiko joined the Great Clan.[4]
Winter Court - 1199[]
Restoring the Boar[]
In 1199 Tochiko attended imperial winter court at Toshi Ranbo. The Imperial Regent Utaku Zo Sia approved the restoration of the Boar Clan, with Tochiko becoming Heichi Tochiko, new daimyo of the restored Boar, at the conclusion of Winter Court. [5] She was betrothed to Hida Tadama, although this was a bittersweet outcome as Tochiko had developed a romantic affection for another Mantis samurai, Moshi Durucho. [6] [7] The Crab Clan had supported Tochiko, and in return the Mantis invited Kaiu Engineers with supplies to Kalani's Landing, who would be uesed for their own war against the Spider Clan. [8]
The Devil's Chase[]
Near the end of the event a shapeshifter oni was revealed among the attendants, Seppun Asagako, the yojimbo to Iweko Miaka herself. The demon of Jigoku rampaged the districts of the Imperial city, [9] eventually confronting and almost killing Tochiko. She, and the newly resotred Boar Clan, was saved by the sacrifice of Moshi Durucho, who interposed himself between the Oni and the woman he loved at the last moment. [10]
Boar Clan Champion[]
Tochiko married with Tadama, and they moved to the ruins of Shiro Heichi. In 1200 the castle was already half rebuilt. The Kuni Witch Hunter Kuni Seifukusha was sent to oversee that the Boar were safe from the dangers of the Shadowlands Taint. [11]
