Hakhim's Seal

Hakhim's Seal

The Hakhim's Seal was a magical geometric formation that was representative of the forces of the universe. It was a way to communicate with Shilah, the Sun, and the base to make magic in the Burning Sands. [1]

Powers[]

The sahir learned to create the seal in his mind, and manipulated the image to achieve various magical effects. When a sahir was casting a spell and making physical gestures, he was in fact doing so as a mental aid and memory tool, much in the same way a person would imagine how to solve a puzzle by pretending to move the pieces and imagining the change. [2]

History[]

Ashalan[]

The Ashalan and the humanity after the First Jinn War were enslaved by the Dark jinn, Kaleel's Legion. They refused to submit to the will of the Jinn and began to devise a way to fight them back. [3]

Day of Wrath[]

Lammassar, Katani, and others ashalan worked to research a fabulous magic sigil made of light and smoke that formed a map of all known magic. The seal revealed that the jinn would consume everything until they were the only powers left, replacing deities of a lost age. It also offered a way to contact Shilah, Lady Sun, directly, who had been imprisoned in the Dark Well by his son the Jinn Lord Kaleel. Shilah, who had gone mad in her isolation, saw what had happened through the veracity of the seal and unleashed the Day of Wrath. In one climactic moment, the world dissolved around the Jinn, Ashalan, and humans. Those who thrived from magic and lived were forced out of Shilah's sight. [3] [4]

Hakhim[]

The Ashalan shared the Seal knowledge with Hakhim, so the tradition of magic would not die out in the place now known as the Burning Sands. [5] Hakhim became the first Sahir. [6]

Primary elements[]

The first spells discovered by Hakhim were those which affected the primary elements: Water, Air, Fire, and Earth. [7]

Iuchi and the Ki-Rin[]

During the Ki-Rin's Exodus the Rokugani Ki-Rin Clan confronted several Khadi in the City of Sorcerers. Iuchi stole from them several books, from which they learned how to call the elements to cast spells, and how to drew power from inscriptions made in talismans. They called this magic, Meishodo, and it was perfectioned by Iuchi's student Iuchi Tsubei. [8]
