Asako Kinto was a shugenja of the Phoenix Clan who lived at Ryoko Owari Toshi.
Naga magic[]
Kinto liked spent many years tending his botanical gardens and studying history. One day, while expanding his garden, he uncovered the ruins of a Naga school of magic, and began to translate the alien tongue. [1]
Shonagon's death[]
His niece Shiba Shonagon died, and shortly after appeared published the Memoirs of an Opium Eater of anonymous author. Kinto recognized himself in the pages, and it was a terrible blow. [1] Shonagon, who was the true writer of the journal, blamed on her uncle's demeanor and mocked his "enlightening" pursuits. [2] Despite it Kinto inherited the silver smithy Star of Silver, which had been owned by Shonagon. [3]
Serpent Cult[]
It pushed Kinto over the edge and began to misinterpret the Naga texts in a fundamental way, that the gods were a human creation. Kinto's teachings reached to certain people who became his followers, of a new "Serpent Cult" of atheist mystics. Its aim was to seize the power of the Gods, instead of begging for it. Kinto instead the harmless old man he appeared had become very dangerous. [4] One of his first followers was the eta Dreamer, who aided Kinto in finding more cultists between the lower classes. [5]
Estate[]
Kinto's home was hidden with a wall that protected it from curious eyes, and within the huge garden sat a shrine of naga style. [6]
Death[]
In 1125 Kinto died and his body was moved to the city's crematorium. [7]
