Failure, My Sensei was written in 1200 by Mirumoto Higaru, shortly after he was defeated by Kakita Shinichi, in a duel orchestrated to show which style was superior, the Kakita style or Niten. Higaru realized that failure was completely his own, lost because he was fighting without Niten. The text became popular among the duelist dojo of the Empire, such as the Blue Chrysanthemum, and moved the Dragon Clan Champion Mirumoto Shikei to order that every student of Niten would carry a copy at all times.
