The Emperor's Chosen were those men and women who served the Imperial Throne directly as advisers and administrators appointed by the Emperor or Empress, including the Imperial Advisor, the Imperial Chancellor, the Shogun, the Voice of the Emperor, the Imperial Treasurer, [1] and the Imperial Herald. [2] It is unknown when the term first began to be used, but it was already current during the reign of the Divine Empress Iweko I. [3]
