Emperor's Blessings

Emperor's Blessing

Once per year the Miya fund the Emperor's Blessing, a caravan of builders, artisans and shugenja who traveled to areas in Rokugan requiring assistance. They repaired landmarks, built schools and did other good deeds. [1] [2]

First Emperor's Blessing[]

After the end of the War Against Fu Leng Miya was entrusted to bring the news of the victory to everyone. During his journey he found a tired and desperate people. Miya and his followers appeared at dawn at every new town and worked rebuilding the village. At noon each day he proclaimed the Emperor's Blessing before riding on to the next village. [3]

Toshi Ranbo[]

After the Battle of Toshi Ranbo in 1169 the Blessing was used in the Imperial City. [4] The Otomo Daimyo Otomo Hoketuhime convinced the Miya Daimyo Miya Shoin to be used to repair the Daidoji mansion as a dojo in honor of the Crane who died in the capital's defense. They did not know that gaijin pepper stored within it was the cause of its destruction. [5]
