Eels were elongated tropical Rokugani fishes [1] prepared as dishes in the Mantis Islands. [2]

Ecology Edit

Eels began life as small yellowish freshwater creatures called unagi, residing in shallow streams and rivers. Over time, unagi grew, their color changed to silver, and they migrated out to sea to become saltwater fish known as anago, which fed upon other fish. They were considered a delicacy in landlocked regions. Eel skin was sometimes tanned into leather, and their blood was a deadly toxin. [3]

Ivory Kingdoms Edit

In the Ivory Kingdoms were seen a new type of eel, which they called a den unagi because of its unusual and dangerous ability to discharge a powerful jolt of lightning when harassed. [4]
