Doji Sasumiko was a artisan and the wife of Doji Osen. She discovered that her husband was a Lion spy, sending encoded messages to Garden Under Shadow City under the guise of letters to his sickly mother. Sasumiko discovered his true nature when he talked in his sleep. One morning revealed to him that she was with child and that she knew he was a traitor. She took poison, rather than betray her husband whom she loved, killing herself and her unborn child. ([1])
