Doji Nakanu

Doji Nakanu quickly gained a reputation as an enthusiastic student, often practicing for hours in the forest near his home striking leaves as they fell from the trees. He would stand in a local waterfall, balancing a stone on his blade while doing strokes. He spent most of his time quietly contemplating the secrets of the Kakita Style

Shortly after his gempukku Nakanu found himself defending Kyuden Doji during the Clan War, where he caught the eyes of Doji Kuwanan and Daidoji Uji. Later he was one of the few survivors after the conflict with the False Hoturi. His valor earned him a position in Kuwanan's Elite Guard for the remaining of the war where he served with distinction.

After the Clan War when almost all the Crane schools were moved to Kyuden Doji he was charged by Kuwanan with the position of sensei of the Dojo.
