Daitan was the Ancestral Wakizashi of the Unicorn Clan. It was orginally created and used by Iuchi, who gave it to Shinjo after she shattered her wakizashi in submission to Hantei after the Tournament of the Kami. [1]
Appearance[]
Daitan had a plain grip, unadorned except for a mesh of silver-gray spider silk. This mesh gave Daitan a slippery appearance and thus some samurai had opted to not wield Daitan, as dropping it would be a dishonor. The blade itself was a milky or cloudy steel and seemed to move about when held still. In combat it moved too fast for mortal eyes to see.
Powers[]
When wielded by any Unicorn or a samurai of at least moderate kenjutsu skill the blade allowed its user to negate the effects of one school technique used against him by an opponent.
Whereabouts[]
Daitan was currently unused and sat on the same 800-year-old stand that Hayai used in Shiro Shinjo.
