Daigotsu Subudi was a bushi of the Spider Clan.
Mantis-Crane War in the Colonies[]
Head Mediator[]
In 1198 he was appointed by the Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime as head mediator in the current Mantis-Crane War in the Colonies. Subudi alongside Kitsuki assistants met Doji Iza at Kalani's Landing, where they would have an audience with the city governor Yoritomo Kanahashi. [1] The Spider were more than willing to encourage the talks between the parties into a state of uselessness. The negotiations between the senior courtiers Doji Rengetsu and Yoritomo Sachina were fruitless. [2]
End of Hostilities[]
Shortly after a Crane fleet came from an unknown base and attacked the Landing. As honored guests Iza and Rengetsu were allowed to join the ship of Daidoji Tametaka, the Crane general, instead to be seized as prisoners. [3] The war ended after the Battle of Ten Thousand Martyrs, where many samurai died from both sides in an enormous blast. Suikihime had gone into hiding, and when Subudi moved to the Second City, he was under the command of Iweko Shibatsu, the Empress' son. [4]
Hostage[]
Subudi was taken hostage by the Crane during the riots in the Second City. He was released after his lord Shibatsu requested his freedom to Doji Iza. [5]
