In 1198 the ascension of the new Ivory Champion Shinjo Tselu as the personal champion and representative of the new Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime had cast a shadow over his mood. Outmaneuvered by both politics and youth, just past forty years of age, Hondo was beginning to consider retirement. [2]
