The Coral Islands were a chain of islands stretching south and west in between the Ivory Kingdoms and Rokugan, far to the south of the Tainted Sea. [1]

When the a ship of the Mantis arrived by happenstance they at first cherished these islands for their timber, coral and pearls. Only after several decades did they realize that they shared the islands with people of the Ivory Kingdoms. Once a year, the winds allowed a Mantis fleet of sengokobune to visit the islands. [1]
