Children of Thunder were Mantis shugenja who through a sacred ritual had their soul mingled ever so slightly with the essence of the Dragon of Thunder. It allowed those priests to wield a fraction of the Dragon's power in exchange for the bolstering of its essence with their souls. These shugenja were not completely human any longer. [1]
