The Bayushi family was the ruling family of the Scorpion Clan. Their samurai specialized in getting close to their foes before striking a killing blow like their namesake, the scorpion. [1] Kyūden Bayushi was its seat of power. [2]

The Bayushi were charming, ruthless, deceitful, and vicious, using the arts of blackmail, poison, and seduction to control the enemies of the Empire. For the Bayushi, the means were justified by the ends: a stable and prosperous Empire. [3]
