Bayushi Nanjiro was a courtier of the Scorpion Clan in the 12th century.
Appearance and Demeanor[]
Nanjiro was a natural manipulator, a thin, lanky man whose long hair turned prematurely gray. He wore a simple veil of black cloth over his face. [1]
The Lair[]
Nanjiro had become the prisoner of a group of bandits in the Twilight Mountains who intended to ransom him back to his clan. He was released by members of the supposedly extinct Boar Clan and was brought to a remote valley known as the Lair. The Boar remnants had cut off this plateau from the Empire since the destruction of their Clan in the early 6th century. Nanjiro found himself a permanent unwilling guest of the Lair, never allowed to leave it. The courtier began a campaign of manipulation and blackmail in order to prepare his escape. His sinister demeanor coupled with his weak appearance led children of the Lair to nickname him the "Scorpion Ghost". [1]
