Bayushi Moyotoshi was a ninja in the service of the Scorpion Clan. It was entirely possible Moyotoshi was a commonly used psedonym for Scorpion assassins.
Ryoko Owari
Moyotoshi dealed with problems in a manner that was permanent and discrete, and no one ever connected these unpleasant acts with the Scorpion. In 1167 the Scorpion Clan had determined that a Unicorn agent, Moto Ogedei, was a problem. [1]
Poison
Ogedei lived in a room in The Weary Traveler, within the Fisherman's Quarter. Every day for ten days, Moyotoshi placed a small amount of poison in Ogedei's sake. The day the Unicorn had the lethal dose in his system Moyotoshi appeared at Ogedei's room. For the poison to take effect the prey must exert herself fully, which Ogedei done when he chased Moyotoshi in the small room. After the Unicorn died, Moyotoshi left the room with no evidence that the Scorpion was ever in the room. [1]
Yojiro
The former Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Yojiro visited Winter Court at Kyuden Otomo during the 1168-1169 winter under the guise of Moyotoshi. Late 1168 he was murdered in his sleep by Moto Shikenji, who was avenging the death of his cousin Moto Ogedei. Bayushi Kaukatsu had been unaware of Moyotoshi's true identity, so it was likely no-one but Scorpion Clan Champion Bayushi Paneki himself knew that Yojiro had died. Some among the investigators however suspected that Moyotoshi had not been who he claimed to be. [2]
