Goblin
From L5r: Legend of the Five Rings
Goblin is the common term for members of the Bakemono race. Native to the Shadowlands, they are small in size, around three to four feet in height. Hunched and twisted, with mouths full of sharp, misaligned teeth, goblins vary in color from pale green to dark olive. They never clean and reek of unspeakable filth. Typically, goblins are very low in intelligence, violent in temper, and generally lack a sense of self preservation.

[edit] Goblins in Battles
Goblins are often found in the front lines of most Shadowlands attacks, since they are considered the most disposable of the Shadowlands forces. Goblins will follow any leader who has proven he can kill them. It is not so much that they respect such a leader, or even fear for their little lives, they just serve out of total terror.
[edit] Breeding
Goblins breed extremely quickly and in large numbers. This has kept their population very high in the Shadowlands, despite their enormous casualty rate.
[edit] Territory
While goblins have no designated territory, they do meet at what is called Big Stink, named by others for the awful stench that comes from having so many bakemono in one place. Big Stink is an ancient structure, the builders of which have long since left, but its walls still stand, offering a small amount of shelter for the goblins.
[edit] Leadership
In recent times, a large goblin named Basher who had the ability to speak and reason attempted to out breed all other goblins in hopes of creating a stronger goblin race. He was reasonably successful, and recently the average goblin had become more aggressive, larger, and more intelligent.
[edit] Shaman
Goblins are not very good at magic as they lack the focus and discipline that makes most spellcasters effective. The few that do manage to produce some magic have a hard time doing it, and an even harder time doing other things at the same time.
[edit] Warmongers
The Warmongers are bigger and smarter than their normal counterparts, and this shows in their capability of using armor and swords left by dead bushi. If goblins raid a Crab fortification it is usually the warmongers who are leading the way.
