Atman, The One, was the impersonal god and the universal soul of the Naga worship. The Bright and the Pale were the Atman's twin eyes, looking down to the creation through first one, then the other. ^[1] Atman was the creator, the maintainer, and the destroyer all in one. The Akasha was part of Atman, ^[2] and the eyes were the portals to the Akasha. ^[3]

The Path to Atman Edit

In the religious beliefs of the Naga the path to Atman was seen as an individual route, which each Naga had to choose. ^[4] To reach him, the Naga progressed between breaths, sheddings, and beyond, seeking their souls' purification, so they would become worthy to be on his presence. ^[5]
