Asahina Oniji was a courtier and sensei of the Crane Clan.

Oniji was a charming, handsome, and married courtier, with a luxurious hair dyed and skilled in conversation. His knack for teaching ikebana made him a valuable asset to his Clan within the court of the Imperial City Toshi Ranbo, having a gift for the educating of youths. He never selected students with absolutely no potential for growth in the artistry he offered. All of this success had sometimes gone to Oniji's head, and he suffered from a highly inflated ego, as well as a touch of a loose tongue. [1]
