Asahina Kamatari was the Asahina family daimyo during the 5th century. He was adept at reading omens, and prophecised events like the Scorpion Coup, the Clan War, the Second Day of Thunder and the ascension of Toturi I. His work was dismissed for centuries but, as his prophecies recently started to be fulfilled, they became the object of intense study. The journals pointed to the existence of a later volume, the location of which was unknown. [1]
Jade Statue[]
Kamatari carved a jade statue depicting three men, one holding a small flower, the second holding a hand over his eyes and the third being more of a shape than a man. The statue, known as The Council, was given to Hantei Retsuhime, and later returned to the Asahina family by Hantei XVII. The statue stood in the Asahina Temples until it was destroyed in 1169 by Hida Sozen who was tasked by the Jade Champion Kuni Daigo to obtain more jade. [2]
