The Ancestral Robe of the Hantei was not woven on a loom, but stitched together by hand by Doji Mioko, the bride of the first Hantei. Made of the finest spider silk, the kimono was painstakingly embroidered, and the fine details blurred together to create an entirely different picture. The kimono never got dirty, never wrinkled, and although it was a thousand years old, it was still bright and colorful. [1]
