Aiguchi was a short knife that could be thrown accurately ^[1] up to thirty feet. Unlike the tanto, the aiguchi possessed a hilt guard. ^{[citation needed]}

It was is the preferred weapon of geisha, assassins, and anyone trying to conceal their attack, ^[2] so it was known as the stabbing blade of Scorpion Clan. ^[3]
